My wife, kids and I stayed at Candlewyck over spring break....all I can say is WOW! The grounds were beautiful (they are under construction right now on new houses and cabins) where the construction is not taking place. The New decks on the suites and honeymoon cabins are big and roomy. Steve and Shannon, the general mgrs., said that they are putting in hot tubs which will just make our next stay even better! I can't wait until this summer to go back.
We had our family reunion vacation at this resort. Our group consisted 30 people with age ranges infants to elderly. This location is unique with the variety of lodging they offer with large homes, hotel room, cabins, and 4 plexes. We used a hotel room, the 4 plex and 2 large homes. I would describe the lodging as luxury lodging, especially in the world of camping. Our crew has high standards and Candelwyck met our standards. We want comfort and luxury of home and we got it. It is a quaint resort and offers privacy with an almost private dock that is located out the back door of the large home. The homes are nice with large kitches and are awesome for entertaining. Everything is within walking distance. This is nice because we have infants and elderly. It was a great location to keep the family all together. The owners are pleasant ,easy to deal with and helpful. They found a photographer for our family pictures. If you are looking for a great location for a family reunion, I promise, you will be happy with Candlewyck.
My husband and I decided to getaway - we are from Kansas City. Never heard of this resort before but sounded. Absolutely exceeded my expectations. We got the honeymoon suite that overlooked the lake, jacuzzi tub w/ fireplace and we rented jet skis. Very relaxing, excellent hospitatility, worth every dime.
